'Tis the Season

Its the rush of the Holiday Season. So much to get done in the next few days, but I manage to take some time out for the RR. This past week has been very cold (OK - cold by CA. standards) and now rainy. Not much can be done outside on my trailer. I was hoping to install the rest of the windows this weekend, but no such luck. The RR is all cozy and dry under a slightly large RV cover. Another score from Craigslist. I'm stuck in the house all afternoon.
With the dogs napping by the fire, the parakeets and I singing along to Christmas carols, I pull out my caulking gun and get to work. I needed to reseal the fixed panes of glass in the front and rear windows. I am determined to keep moisture out of the RR and prevent future dry rot. Good thing for me, my kitchen has an enormous "island". Perfect for working on large projects. Doesn't everyone have their trailer windows on the counter next to their "melting" gingerbread house?? If only the smell of gingerbread could overcome the nasty smell of the glass sealant! It goes to your head quicker than egg nog!
With a forecast of rain continuing for the next 6 days straight (ugh!), I'm resigning myself to step back from the RR project and focus on the Holiday. I can still get those cards sent. Christmas trees are 1/2 price after 5pm on Christmas Eve, right? Plenty of time. My kids might be surprised when I give them both a package of steel wool and a can of shellac. We can make this a family project! We could bond in a whole new way!! Oh what a joy that would be : )
